Description
Industrial RS232 hub that allows multiple devices or controllers (PLC/PC) to communicate without conflict. Built-in isolation ensures stable and reliable serial data transmission in automation and Modbus systems. DIN rail design.
The 2-channel buffered RS232 hub is an industrial communication gateway designed to manage data exchange between host and slave devices in RS232 networks. It allows multiple RS232 hosts to access a single slave device without communication conflicts, and it can also be used to expand the number of slave devices in an RS232 branch or bus system.
To improve communication reliability, the unit uses photoelectric isolation to reduce signal interference and help maintain stable data transmission. A built-in 10K data buffer helps coordinate multiple communication requests at the same time, while intelligent data frame recognition improves response speed and helps detect abnormal communication errors more quickly.
Each RS232 channel features 6kV lightning protection, photoelectric isolation, and up to 3kV isolation voltage. Every channel also has an independent ground design, so if one RS232 bus is damaged, devices connected to other RS232 channels remain protected. The power input port also includes 6kV lightning protection for additional system safety in industrial environments.

Applications
Application 1: Two Masters Access One Slave Device
This application shows how the RS232 Isolation Hub allows two master devices to communicate with one RS232 slave device without data conflict. In this example, a PLC and a PC are both connected to the hub, while the hub connects to a single flowmeter (Modbus slave).
In a normal RS232 system, one master device usually communicates with one slave device directly. If two hosts need to access the same slave, communication conflicts, unstable data transmission, or device errors may occur. The RS232 Isolation Hub solves this problem by coordinating communication between both masters and the shared slave device.
This makes it possible for the PLC to handle control tasks while the PC is used for monitoring, configuration, diagnostics, or data collection at the same time. The hub manages the communication path so both masters can access the slave device in an organized and stable way.
Built-in photoelectric isolation, independent channel protection, and data buffering help improve communication reliability in industrial environments. This is especially useful in automation systems where one field device must be shared by both a control system and a service or monitoring computer.
